We got some tough news over the weekend. Elton Ford is a football player who graduated last year from the school where Darlene works. He was awarded a football scholarship by the University of Arkansas. He won a starting position at safety as a freshman and was having a good year. We found out over the weekend that a couple of weeks ago he was injured in a game and is out for the remainder of the season with three fractured vertebrae. It's not considered career-threatening, apparently, but it's still a scary thing to hear. We're sending prayers and healing thoughts his way and ask everyone out there to do so as well. Darlene says he's a good kid and we're hoping he'll be able to come back to full health.
Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD! Mom and Dad are on a Thanksgiving cruise this week. They're presently in Cozumel and are headed to Costa Rica and Panama later in the week. On Thanksgiving Day they'll be on an excursion crossing the Panama Canal. A nice way to celebrate your birthday. Congratulations on making it one more year. I know there'll be many more years and adventures for you and Mom. I love you!
