We did some rearranging in the house today. We have a chest freezer in the kitchen now so we moved the computer desk into a corner in the dining room. It's actually more roomy, the light is better, and the outlets are more accessible, so I'm all for it. When I get doine here I'm going to go through the drawers and clean a bunch of stuff out. My brother is supposed to come over this weekend and bring us an old recliner that he doesn't need any more. We're always on the lookout for seating so we were pretty excited when he told us he had it available.
Not much else is going on, so I won't drone on and on. I've seen signs of more visits to my blog this week. It's pretty cool. Thanks for stopping by. Keep coming back over the summer to see what is going on in the life of the Brady Bunch. Feel free to comment while you're here. It's always nice to get an idea of who is stopping by. That's it for now. I'm out.

In which I take a break

In which I finally get it over with
You ever heard the word "blogslacking"? I picked it up while trolling the Ben/Wanda/Megan blogumverate. It means you have a blog but you don't write in it. My name is Sam Brady and I am a blogslacker. By trying to cure my blogslack, I have now become a workslacker as well, in that I am writing in my blog when I should actually be working. Lo, I am a master of the myriad forms of slack-fu.
I've been meaning, at some point, to tell the long, sort-of-funny, fully annotated version of the stove story but it's been four months now, so what's the point any more, really, you know? I'll beat that long-dead horse by giving you the down-and-dirty, then move on with my blog and my life. Our stove caught on fire in June or July (might have even been May). Twice. In one day. Pithy e-mails were exchanged between my wife and me. We eventually got a new stove, but it was too big for our stove hole. My brother came over one night and made our stove hole bigger. Yay Bill! And Steven helped. We have been enjoying our new stove for many weeks now. I think it's this one. If it's not, it looks a lot like it, so roll with it.
So that's the stove story. I'm sure you're saying, "We waited all this time for that?" Talk about your anticlimaxes.
I know I had other things to tell you, but I really can't think of any of them right now so I'll go away and try and get some work done before I go home. Hopefully the amount of my blogslack will decline. I'll do my best, but no promises.

What a week!
This entry was originally posted on my old blog.
Gr, dudes.
I just got off the phone with Darlene. She's working tonight, managing third shift up in Fayettenam. She'll be down here to visit in a couple of weeks. I need to see her again. It's only been two weeks since we last got to spend time together, but it feels like it's been a lot longer than that. Part of the reason for that, though, is that work has been crazy lately. It's been month-end, and I've been helping out on some stuff that I don't generally do. It's nice to know how to perform a few extra tasks. It makes me more valuable as an employee, and I think my boss is starting to get a good feeling about my abilities and my reliability. Always a plus!
Today was a pretty good day outside the office as well. Work continues on the balcony and woodwork at the ranch, so that's all good. Walter came over for a Cave Nighttm, but it didn't last very long. We were settling nicely into Season 5, Disc 2 of Angel when his sweetie called. She had just gotten home from a Florida trip, so of course he dropped me like the other shoe as soon as he could and went home to hear all about her adventures in Orlando. I can't begrudge him the time, though; I know what it's like to be away from the one you love. Besides, she passed along greetings to me when she called, so she can't be all that bad. Just kidding, Lynn. Hope you had a good trip. Oh, and the Braves won tonight, "B-Mac" Brian McCann getting the game-winner in the 8th. Chop chop, I say.
Not much else going on right now. It's gonna be a nice, lazy weekend. I figured out that this will be the first weekend in the last eight that I've been able to really sleep in on Saturday. The last seven weekends have either seen my daughter visiting, Darlene visiting, or me going to visit her, and those have all included early starts on Saturday. I'm sleeping in tomorrow, then I have four hours of taped TV shows from this week to watch (which doesn't include Battlestar Galactica, dammit. I forgot to tape that tonight. Have to watch for the rebroadcast). Anyway, I'll get caught up on my shows and write a review of invasion for ttnmc, then it's nothing but football till I go to bed Sunday night (hunker down just one more time). Aw yeh. Gonna be a good weekend.
I'm going to bed. Good night.
